Today was Julia's Mother's service...very nice and a lot of folks attended. Julia seemed pleased and I was surprised when her Dad recognized me. Got to work about noon and I don't think anyone missed me. I printed Kitti Sharp's rehearsal dinner invites and when she came into pick them up we had a really long chat about her husband being with Piedmont Airlines...planes, daddy, she is from Knoxville, etc.
Finshed up the day doing a couple of samples for Genevieve and Ben. Also did some label designs for Kitti and Janey Nelson. We are supposed to get a little snow tonight but I think is going to fizzle out.

Not really sure what I did today. Let's see...went to bank on way to work and on way home from work, BE Aero check came today. Between those two trips to the bank I created and delivered a basket. I guess one big thing I did was face up to invoices and bills...might just make it this year.
After going by the bank coming home Zoe and I stopped off and took a walk through Bolton Park. We both really enjoyed it and I want to do it again...if I can figure out how to do it before dark.
Julia's mother's service is tomorrow morning and of course I made an appointment to meet with an OCTOBER bride in the morning...which I just thought of!!! Never fails.

Not much to speak of happened today. Worked on Geneive and Ben's invitation design for their cotton inspired wedding. Also finished correcting the proofs for Nicole's invitations.
Behaved gastronomically....so far so good! Less than one year to go...

Another quiet day at work. Did not hear back on either of the wedding proofs. Elizabeth Smith came in to find a baby shower invite. Only wants 10 printed...spent almost one HOUR looking at every invite in the store TWICE while complaining about everyone she knows. She must be a ball to live with! Guess what...she'll be back.
Two good pieces of news today:
  • Nancy Pelosi no longer Speaker of the House
  • Press Sec. Gibbs is also gone...soon

Got up, showered and drove to work. Got to the store and nobody was in the village. Deacon Store closed, KBR closed and Spa closed...so Zoe and I left and went to Aldi for produce, Walmart for Ball Jars, which they did not have, so I stopped in at Kmart and got 'em! Finished up at home and worked on the website which I am not that happy with at this point...hard work to get the look I want.
Julia's Mom died about 9:30 tonight...so sad for Julia.

I was a good girl for most of the day. Late in the evening I may have eaten an extra candy cane or two and a small slice of Mom's date nut bar. But, this is so much better that I have been behaving for several years now. Hope I will stay on the straight and skinny!
The rules, except for the afore mentioned oops, were followed by eating several small meals thougout the day. I think where I may have erred was eating a Marie Callender's frozen meal for dinner which contained miniscule protein and that is why I got so hungry later...live and learn.

The first day of January, Two thousand and eleven

January 1, 2011....
Today begins the journey back to a better me. I can't stand how I feel and look...so off with at least 100 pounds in 2011. This is change I have to believe in!
I know I won't follow a "diet" created by someone else so I am designing my own gastronomy plan. Here are my initial thoughts:

  • 11,100 total calories a week. Each day will be a different total number of calories consumed so my metabolism will not think it is being starved.
  • 5 -6 small meals a day to stave off hunger and mindless eating of bad stuff.
  • Keep a daily food diary, calorie count and weigh in.
  • Walk 2 to 3 times a week to begin.
  • Find, create and cook low calorie, high taste meals.
